Here's what I know. I know that love is perfect. Love is beautiful. It brings people together. It brings joy to faces, and it heals all manner of past hurts.
So when I say that this wedding was perfect, beautiful, brought people together, brought joy to faces, and healed all manner of past hurts, it's because this wedding is the very definition of what the word Love means.
The celebration of the relationship between Stephanie and Jennifer was incredible. Every single person there was full of joy, laughter, excitement, and encouragement. From the moment we arrived at the jaw-dropping, stunning, incredibly photogenic Spokane Club, we were blown away by the staff, decor, catering, EVERYTHING--and that was just the venue! The family portraits were just one big opportunity for 40+ people to stand around and hug each other and laugh at old memories--one of the happiest gatherings of family I have EVER seen-- the ceremony had people crying the moment the brides walked in, and those tears were wiped away with laughter as the officiant took selfies with the brides, vengefully and humorously quelled ringing phones by calling out audience members, and said "If anyone knows any reason why these two should not be wed, GET OUT. GET OUT RIGHT NOW." To say that I want him to officiate ALL the weddings of Spokane County is an understatement. He was my personal hero.
The reception was just an extension of the vibe that had been going around all day. Laughter rang freely all across the reception hall, guests embraced, laughed, danced, drank, and danced even more. The DJ (Amp'd Entertainment) kept everyone laughing, played the perfect playlist, unleashed a FOG MACHINE during the first dance (which resulted in AMAZING portraits) and made lights do things that made my camera incredibly INCREDIBLY happy.
As a vendor, it's always a complete and utter relief to work with other professionals in our industry that are just as passionate about their trade and the couple as we are. We were blown away by everyone who contributed to this wedding--but we also know that a vendor works best when they have an amazing couple that appreciates and allows us the ability to operate at full capacity. And Steph & Jenni made each and every person present feel valued, appreciated, and drove us to do our best. I'm pretty sure we all went home that day with grins on our faces. What. A. Wedding.
When we finally left that night, we looked back to see the lights still dancing on the windows, shadows of the vast amount of incredible people who had gathered to see Love united in the most ceremonial way we could come up, and we couldn't help but stop, wrap our arms around each other, and watch for a moment.
But only for a moment, because it was night time in downtown Spokane, and we were carrying camera gear, and we had to get home because we couldn't wait to pour over everything we had just captured. But still. The moment happened. That's what matters here.
OH. I almost forgot. Since I had the awesome pleasure of doing their engagement portraits 4 days before their wedding, I decided to hold off and just blog both of them together. Take a look at the sneak peek from the engagement session, AND THEN, feast your eyes on the wedding portraits, AND THEN, if you're still not satisfied, check out the FUSION Video for additional pictures.
